Jotin's record-breaking debut gives Manipur 25-run lead against Sikkim

Young debutant Jotin Pheiroijam stole the show with a stunning nine-wicket blitz as Manipur took a 25-run lead against Sikkim after the second day of their Plate Group match in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 at SICA Ground, Rangpo, Sikkim on Wednesday.
Batting first, the state squad got dismissed for 186 in 56.5 overs.
Kishan Singha (43 not out), Ronald M (41), Rex (28), Karnajit Y (14), Bishworjit (12) and Langlonyamba M (10) were the run-getters in double figures in Manipur's first innings where three of their wickets fell to Sumit, two each to Palzor and Ankur, and one each to Jeetendra, Tarun Sharma and Lee Yong Lepcha.
Jotin Pheiroijam, who just turned 16, made a record-breaking Ranji Trophy debut at the expense of Sikkim's batting lineup.
He almost single-handedly did the task for his side with the ball, taking nine wickets to help Manipur bowl out Sikkim for 220 in 73.1 wickets.
Rex chipped in with one wicket.
In the Sikkim innings, Sumit (47), Arun (41), Anwesh (39) and Ashish Thapa (32) were the main contributors.
Manipur started their sec ond innings with 59 runs in 19 overs and closed out the day with six wickets in hand.
B Rahman was unbeaten on 23 and Johnson scored 13 (not out) to end the day with Manipur leading by 25 runs.
For Sikkim, Sumit claimed three wickets as Palzor took one.
