DoNER ministry commits to aid NE start-ups

A team of Manipur Technology Innovation Hub (MTI HUB), an initiative of the Department of Information Technology and implemented by KIIT Technology Business Incubator (TBI), along with 16 startups from North East including 10 from Manipur participated in the Startup Innovation Conclave 1.0 held at KIIT TBI, Bhubaneswar on December 9 and 10.In a release, MTI HUB manager Dr Rajiv Kangabam stated that the programme was inaugurated by Union Ministry of DoNER secretary Lok Ranjan in the presence of KIIT and KISS founder Prof Achyuta Samanta; National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) CMD commodore Amit Rastogi; KIIT University VC Prof Sasmita Samanta; KIIT TBI CEO Dr Mrutyunjay Suar, among others.
Speaking at the conclave, Lok Ranjan stressed on the efforts made by DoNER Ministry to integrate startups from NE states into the country's Startup ecosystem with special attention on health care, education and employment.
He also mentioned the need for able partners to identify, incubate and groom future startups from NE region, while underlining the vision of NE states for achieving impactful transformation at an accelerated pace to catch up with its deficiencies in a sustainable way, it added.
MTI HUB also conveyed that secretary Lok Ranjan inaugurated NE Pavilion where 16 startups from NE showcased their products and services along with launching three products.
The pavilion was visited by number of officials from TDB, NRDC, DSR, BIRAC, MSME, DAAD, investors and venture capitalists, it stated.
