L Surendrakumar emerges last man standing in 4th India Backyard Ultra

Imphal, February 12 2023:
Laishram Surendrakumar has won the title of the 4th India Backyard Ultra also known as Last Man Standing event held at Aravalli trail.
Surendrakumar, son of Laishram Ibohanbi and Laishram Leimahal, emerged the last man standing after taking 30 hours to cover the 200 km ultramarathon.
The run started at 7 am yesterday and he finished the course at 1 pm today.
He was the runner up in the previous edition despite finishing two hours less than this edition.
He will now be a part of the team Indian for the World Team Backyard Ultra which is scheduled to be held on October 24 next year.
It may be noted that backyard ultra is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run a distance of 6.7 km in less than one hour.
The race is over when only one runner remains to complete a lap and the runner is marked as the winner and only finisher, with all other runners receiving a "DNF" .
