'Purification of mind' programme conducted

With an aim to inculcate the basic manner and behaviour imparted by our forefathers to the students of Emmanuel English Academy (EEA) who would be appearing in the class X and XII examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) and Council bf higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM), a programme entitled "Purification of Mind" was held at the school's Yaingangpokpi campus on Sunday.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha, who is also Manipur Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd chairman, pointed out that just like good schools producing meritorious students, good sportsmen can be developed with development of sports playground and provision of basic facilities.
Therefore, in order to bring out good students and sportspersons in Lamlai constituency, more emphasis would be given to development of schools and playground in the constituency, he declared.
Ibomcha further informed that in addition to children from Lamlai constituency, Emmanuel English Academy also accommodates students from Saikul, Ukhrul and Phungyar, adding that all possible help will be rendered from his side along with assistance from Saikul and Ukhrul MLAs for developing the school at its best.
Presided over by EE Academy higher secondary section principal Khomdram Somoren-dra Singh, the function was also attended by All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association advisor Namoijam Tomba, culture activist Ningthouja Lancha, EE Academy high school section land donor N Borni Leima, high school section principal Ng Saratchandra Singh and Democratic Student's Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) founder president L Romesh Meetei as guests of honour.
Students of the school who are going to appear in the BSEM and COHSEM conducted examinations were presented pens on the occasion.
