Noney, February 12 2023:
Bitiang (Laphok) Village Authority, Noney district, has expressedits displeasure over the failure of the law enforcing agencies of the State to take actions against the miscreants involved in burning down 3 houses on February 9, 2023.A release issued by Kanamsinpou Malangmei, chairman Bitiang village, claimed that on February 9, some people of Charoi-Chagodong (Chakanlong) came to Bitiang-Hanthingzeiteng with arms and burnt down 3 houses completely.
"The Village Authority submitted a complaint against the illegal notice which led to the demolition of 3 houses on January 30, 2023 at Bitiang-Hanthingzeiteng.
The Government agencies including DC, SP.
& SDO Noney were informed about the same", it added.
The VA claimed that Laphok village purchased a piece of land from Charoi-Chagotlong in 1973 and the hamlet of Bitiang started living there.
It also pointed out that any individual or group cannot take the law into their own hands except by the legitimate authorities, the police and Courts of law.
The VA also raised questions over the failure of the DC/ SP/SDO Noney to take action against the culprits who allegedly violated the 144 CRPC order imposed around 2 Km radius of Hanthingzeiteng (Bitiang area).
Bitiang Village Authority further appealed to Chief Minister N Biren Singh to intervene and give justice to the victimized villagers.
