Surendrakumar claims India Ultra championship title

Imphal, February 12 2023:
In the 4th edition of Indian Backyard Ultra championship, also known as the Last Man Standing event, L Surendrakumar of Top Awang Leikai clocked 30 hours to cover the 200 km and clinch the title of the championship held on the Aravalli range.
Son of Laishram Ibohanbi Singh and Leimahal Devi, Surendrakumar's run started at 7am on February 11 and completed at 1pm on February 12 .
Surendrakumar will now be part of Team India for the World Team Backyard Ultra Championship which is scheduled to be held from October 15, 2024.The backyard ultra is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 6.7 km in less than one hour.
The race is over when only one runner remains to complete a lap.
This runner is marked as the winner and only finisher, with all other runners receiving a "DNF" .
