Somorjit Salam stunned CRAU batters with his pace and accuracy to enjoy a six wicket haul and led Model Club to a huge 105 run victory in the fourth match of the ongoing 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Toumament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Model Club did not have the best of their start and were bundled out for 157 runs in 33 overs as CRAU bowlers put in a concerted effort.
But the total proved too big for CRAU as pacer Somorjit Salam led the bowling attack to bowl out CRAU for just 52 runs within 17 overs.
Model Club had a sloppy start losing Thoudam Deepak for 11 runs to Takhellambam Kala in the fourth over and further to 57 for 4 in 12.2 overs with Ayekpam Uttam setting up Robertson Laishram's (18) catch in the 9th over, bowling out Langlonyamba (15) and trapping Maisnam Tejkumar (28) lbw out in first two deliveries of 13th over.

Takhellambam Kala however broke the partnership by removing Sunil Salam and completed his two wicket haul before Heishnam Joyhenba removed Tejkumar and Dibak Naorem (17) to reduce Model Club to 143 for 8 .

Needing 158 runs for the win, CRAU faced a stiff opposition right from the beginning and were reduce to 26 for 3 with Sunil Salam removing openers - Johny Kh (3) and Sanatomba K (7) cheaply and L Superjit removing Dijen Naorem for 1 .
Star of the day Somorjit Salam then broke the back of the CRAU line up by picking up three wickets including Kh Bimol Singh (7) and Takhellambam Kala (4-ball duck) in the 11th over to reduce CRAU to 36 for 6 after 10.4 overs.
CRAU further slipped to 36 for 7 the next over with Ph Jodash holing out to Langlonyamba off Superjit's bowling before Somorjit Salam swept the remaining three wickets to wrap up the innings within 17 overs and emerged with the finest bowling figures of 6/7 in 5 overs which contain 2 maidens.
