35th General Tournament : RSC-B, YSCT-C, Laiktla-A and Laiktla-B reach quarters

RSC-B, YSCT-C, Laiktla-A and Laiktla-B cruised into the quarter finals of the 35th General Tournament which kicked off yesterday at Riindamkhuw village in Chandel district under the aegis of Eastern Lamkang Naga Sporting Association.
In the first pre-quarter final match of the tournament, RSC-B outlasted Lamkang Khunou 3-1 courtesy a brace from Bungshingwar (25', 28') .
Philip had handed Lamkang Khunou the lead in the 24th minute before Bungshingwar scored two goals back to back to overturn the lead and Rengnong hit the decisive goal in the 60th minute.
In the second pre-quarter final match, YSTC-C overwhelmed Kongpe 10-1 as SK Darpol scored five goals alone (13', 32', 34', 50', 64') .

Rengringshel (2') opened the scoring for YSTC-C before SK Darpol doubled the advantage in the 13th minute and Th Boaz scored the third in the 27th minute.
Kongpe's Shetringjoy conceded an own goal in the 30th minute to make it 4-0 before SK Darpol, SK Augustine (42') and J Jasper (61') carried forward the scoring spree.
Hollywell scored the consolation goal for Kongpe in the 60th minute.
In the tourney's fifth match and third pre-quarter final match, SK Anthony scored four goals (2', 37', 43', 49') alone to fire Laiktla-A 5-0 past YSCT-A.JV Wangpem scored the team's second in the 14th minute to ensure Laiktla-A the huge victory.
In the fourth match of the day, Laiktla-B edged 3-2 past Betuk Sengkreng courtesy goals from Th Darminthang (12'), JV Khungringam (15') and Th Khalchung (26').SK Ashok (8') and ST Paul (55') were on target for the losing team.
Yesterday, Mantri Pantha and Kotal Khutum made it to the pre-quarter finals registering their opening game victories.
In the opening match, Kotal Khutum saw off YSCT-B by 2-0 goals thanks to strikes from Darshing (8') and Rengmi (19') .
Meanwhile, Mantri Pantha beat Lungkharlown 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 normal time draw.
SK Ringchan (24') and SS Rengam (30') were on target for the losing team as Mantri Pantha who led through Wanghring Dilbung (21') had to come back and draw level through Beningam Kangtem (71') in the second half.
In the shoot-out after the 2-2 stalemate, Anglarshing SS, Kh Leonard, D Chamshel and D Moses scored for Mantri Pantha as only SK Shelston, Kh Rengminthang and Kh Forthson converted from the spot for Lungkharlown.
