Two UGs arrested, air-gun seized

Imphal, April 25 2023:
Security forces arrested two cadres of the proscribed KCP (PWG) and RPF/PLA outfits on Monday and Tuesday.
The arrested cadres have been identified as Usham Rameshwor (34), son of Usham Jugindro Singh of Chingmeirong Maning Leikai, and Laishram Kiran Meitei alias Sunil alias Nongthon (43), son of L Dhananjay Meitei of Mongjam Mamang Leikai Litan Makhong but presently staying in a rented house located at Patsoi Part-I near Deepak Stone Crusher According to police, a special commando team led by officer in-charge L Bebekananda Singh on Monday conducted search operation in Chingmeirong Maning Leikai area upon receiving reliable information and arrested Usham Rameshwor from his house.
During interrogation, Rameshwor revealed that he is an active member of KCP (PWG) and joined the outfit in 2018 through one Kiran Singh of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai.
Rameshwor further disclosed that he is working in finance section of the outfit under the command of Lamyanba Khuman and collected about Rs 1 lakh from hospitals and clinics operating on Porompat side and handed over the same to Lamyanba Khuman as party fund of KCP (PWG).
Meanwhile, upon receiving reliable information from 4 AR and corroborated from source, a team of Imphal West commando arrested an active cadre of RPF/PLA identified as Laishram Kiran Meitei from a rented house located at Patsoi Part-I near Deepak Stone Crusher on Tuesday.
Kiran disclosed that he joined the proscribed organisation in September 1998 through one King of RPF/PLA and received 45 days basic military training in 1999/2000 at Singhat in Churachandpur and was allotted army no 1772 .
He further revealed that he worked under the command of self-styled Major Jame of RPF/PLA (101A Reserve Battalion, Thangjing area) and self-styled Major Hemanta of RPF/PLA (252 Tactical Battalion, Sajik Tampak).
A mobile handset, Aadhaar card, an air-gun pistol and ammunition marked as 7.65 B were seized from him.
The arrested cadre along with the seized items has been handed over to Patsoi police station for taking further necessary legal action, it added.
