TRAU, AKSDO complete U-14 boys tournament semis lineup

Imphal, April 25 2023:
TRAU and AKSDO booked the remaining semifinal berths of the 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament after their quarterfinal victories on Tuesday.
TRAU got the better of TCMDC by three wickets for their place in the last four.
Electing to field, TRAU bundled out TCMDC in 25.5 overs for 136 .
Mutum Swabhiman was the pick of TRAU's bowlers as his six-over spell earned him four wickets.
Preethson Arubam did his bit with two scalps while Potsangbam Jeet, Arubam Rohit and Treeny Arubam bagged one each.
TCMDC's innings saw Moirangthem Romesh top-score with 54, followed by Visho-nath (24) and Mathoi (18) .
In their response, TRAU achieved the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
Mutum Swabhiman led the run chase scoring 64 off 53 balls.
Other notable contributors for TRAU were Treeny Arubam (18 not out), Tyrus Chabungbam (12) and Preethson Arubam (10) .
For TCMDC, Akoijam Dis-taraj snapped four wickets and M Romesh took two in a losing cause.
Mutum Swabhiman received the man of the match trophy for his all-round performance of four wickets and 64 runs.
AKSDO, meanwhile, strolled past YUCC by six wickets on their way to the semifinals.
AKSDO opted to field and skittled out YUCC in 17.5 overs for 109 and then they chased down the target with ease.
Brilliant bowling efforts by Bidyananda Ningthoujam and Raylight Ningthoujam made short work of YUCC's batting lineup, with the AKSDO's duo sharing nine wickets between them.
Bidyananda claimed five scalps in his five overs and Raylight took four in his six overs while Paikhomba Laishram got one.
In YUCC's innings, M Amitkiyon (31), M Ricky (23) and N Reshan (12 not out) were the batters who could score in double figures.
In reply, AKSDO overhauled the target in 18.3 overs courtesy of Borish Khundrakpam (33), Moirangthem MC Chan Meitei (27), Chingamba Elangbam (19) and Khundrakpam Boiton (5 not out) .
In the process, the team lost two wickets to Premson and one each to Malangba and Arun.
Bidyananda Ningthoujam was adjudged the man of the match for his five-wicket haul.
AKSDO and PCC will square off in the first semifinal match on April 27 while TRAU take on RCA in the second semifinal match on April 28 .
