MNCA U-14 Boys Tourney : TRAU, AKSDO book semi-final tickets

TRAU-Kwakeithel and AKSDO-Khangabok made their way into the last-four stage of the 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament with quarter final victories today.
In the third quarter final match at PCC ground, TRAU rode on Mutum Swabhiman's allround performance to chase down a target of 137 runs set by TCMDC-Thongju Part II Pechu Lampak in 19.4 overs for 7 wickets to set up a semi-final date with RCA-Lilong on April 28 .
TRAU chose to field first and bowled out TCMDC for 136 runs in 25.5 overs riding on Mutum Swabhiman's four wicket haul (4/25).

TCMDC had a stuttering start with Preethson trapping T Nganba for a 6-ball duck in the opening over and further slipped to 14/3 in 4.2 overs with Potsangbam Jeet removing Chandrashaker on duck for the second wicket and Preethson bowling out Akoijam Distaraj for 11-ball 5 to complete his two wicket haul.
TRAU bowlers gave TCMDC no respite and reduced them to 71 for 9 in 17 overs with Mutum Swabhiman snaring two wickets in the 15th over and two more wickets in the 17th over.
Moirangthem Romesh however held on with a 62-ball 54 to steer TCMDC to 136 before he was bowled out by Treeny Aruba for the 10th wicket.
In reply, Akoijam Distaraj (4/29) and Moirangthem Romesh (2/29) gave TRAU a tough fight but Mutum Swabhiman's 53-ball 64 and double digit contributions from Tyrus Chabungbam (12), Treeny Arubam (18 not out) and Preethson Arubam (10) kept the scoreboard ticking and help the team secure the victory in 19.4 overs.
M Swabhiman was adjudged man of the match for his all round show.
In the last quarter final match, AKSDO upstaged YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 6 wickets to set up a semi-final date with PCC, Mayaikoibi on April 27 .
AKSDO chose wisely to field first and skittle out YUCC for a paltry total of 109 runs in 17.5 overs as Bidyananda Ningthujam (5/14 in 5 overs) and Raylight Ningthoujam claimed four (4/31) wreaked havoc across their line up.
Only M Ricky (23) and M Amitkiyon (31) were the significant run getters for YUCC before AKSDO rode on Borish Khundrakpam (33 not out), Moirangthem MC Chan (27) and Chingamba Elangbam (19) to seal the victory.
Premson Mayanglambam of YUCC finished with the best bowling figures of 2/6 in 1 overs as K Malangba and Arun Khumanthem shared a wicket each.
Bidyananda who enjoyed a fifer was adjudged man of the match.
