Assam Rifles units conduct lectures

Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) standing firm to its credo "Friends of the NE people" organised a lecture on prevention and cure of malaria during monsoon for locals at Santing village in Churachandpur district on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the lecture was aimed at promoting cleanliness and maintaining hygiene and sanitation in the area.
The locals were briefed on various prevention measures to be adopted by locals against malaria and locally available cure medicines against the disease.
The event was organised to spread awareness amongst the locals and ensure cleanliness and hygiene at village.
A total of 30 locals from Santing L, Santing U and K Zoar villages participated in the event.
The authorities and youth expressed their gratitude to the Security Forces for conducting such fruitful event at their premises.
Meanwhile, Khuga Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted an awareness lecture on organic farming and use of latest technology in farming at Songdoi, Singhat, Beheng, H Khunou and Z Khunou villages in Churachandpur district on Tuesday as an effort to make people aware about the advantages of organic farming including use of latest agricultural technologies to increase productivity while ensure no damage to chemical balance of soil.
The event included a detailed lecture followed by interactive session where participants were made aware of various types of organic farming, its advantages over traditional farming and techniques/technology available in the said field.
They were also made aware about the facilities and financial benefits extended by the government on the same.
A total of 65 civilians took part and got benefitted from the event.
