Imphal, April 25 2023:
The proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) reportedly celebrated its 29th Raising Day on Tuesday at its CHQ, battalions, units and sections within and outside Kangleipak (Manipur).
According to a KYKL statement issued by its publicity and research secretary A Yaiphaba, the main celebration at Central Headquarters (CHQ) attended by many key leaders was marked by hoisting of the armed group's flag, offering of floral tributes to the revolutionary cadres who laid their lives for the cause of national liberation movement and reading out of the message of the chairman.
During the event, most of the leaders highlighted the necessity to live as a 'subject' rather than existing as a 'object' with no freedom of choice, similar to what the chairman spoke about the need for an authentic existence to safeguard one's identity.
The leaders emphasised the chairman's argument regarding connection be tween economic marginalization and a nation's demise.
Members of the organisation explored how a society with a strong sense of identity may heighten its collective consciousness after perusing the chairman s statement.
All of the organisation s members were reminded by the chairman of the need to continue opposing India's alleged suppressive policy saying that it is the only means by which people of Kangleipak could continue to exist as people.
The primary themes of KYKL's 29th Rising Day were keeping the embers of resistance burning, persevering with the national liberation movement and protecting national identity, the statement added.
