Vijay Hazare Trophy: Rex's heroics in vain as Hyderabad trounce Manipur by 7 wickets

Manipur suffered a crushing 7 wicket defeat to Hyderabad in the ongoing Vij ay Hazare Trophy at Airforce Complex Ground, Palam for the fifth straight loss today despite RK Rex's all roundperformance.
Electing to bat first, Manipur racked up a lowly total of 191 runs for 8 but Hyderabad rode on fourth wicket partnership between K Rohit (39 off 51) and Tilak Varma (126 off 77) to ease to winning 192 within 28.1 overs.
Narsingh Yadav (16), Nitesh Sedai (20) and Guniram A (16) kept the scoreboard ticking early on before Rex (36 off 48 balls), Kishan (26 off 39 balls) and Bikash Singh (44 not out) give Manipur a late thrust.
Shashank M of Hyderabad was in clinical form with this bowling today as he picked three wickets while Tilak Varma and K Rohit Rayudu managed two wickets apiece.
Hyderabad started their chase on a sticky note with RK Rex troubling the openers with his pace and accuracy before removing skipper Tanmay Agarwal for 8 in the third over (2.3 over).
Hyderabad were reduced to 18 for 2 with A Guniram getting T Santosh Goud run out on 3 in the first delivery of the 6th over.
Rex then trapped Dheeraj Goud (9) lbw in the 9th over to keep things tight but Manipur bowlers failed to break Rohit Rayudu-Tilak Varma's partnership and the duo finished off the chase with ease.
Rex emerged with the best bowling figures of 2 for 33 in 7 overs.
