Breast cancer screening camp conducted

Imphal, November 19 2022:
Chhabi Sayong Foundation (CSF), Manipur Prant, Youth Rising Star Club (YSRC), Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi Thokchom Leikai and Dev- Dash Samajik Pratisthan jointly organised a breast cancer awareness-cum-screening camp at the YSRC premises on Saturday.
The programme was attended by former international footballer Potshangbam Renedy Singh, CSF Manipur Prant vice chairman L Bashanta Sharma, IWCDC secretary Annie Mangsatabam, YSRC president Loitongbam Ibohal Singh and IMC Ward No 12 former corporator P Premila Devi among others.
Speaking on the sidelines of the camp, HJ Doshi Ghat Copper Hindu Sabha Hospital medical director Dr Vaibhav Deogirkar cautioned all concerned that the rate of cancer disease has been on the rise due to unhealthy lifestyle and food habits.
Pointing out that the cancer curable if diagnosed in the early stages, Dr Vaibhav expressed hope that the programme will help make the public aware about the disease.
Two more similar camps will be conducted at Lizard Library Club, Wangkhei Mei-houbam Lampak on Sunday and at the office of New Generation, Moreh on Monday, said one of the organisers while appealing to women folks of the said localities to avail benefit of the same.
