Rally staged against drug trafficking, drug peddlers & drug abuse

All Kwakta Co-ordinating Committee and Jamiatul Ulema Bishnupur District today organised a protest rally against "Drug trafficking, drug peddlers and drug abuse" in Kwakta.
The rally went from Kwakta Public Ground to Kwakta Khuman and Kwakta Lamkhai before culminating at the Public Ground.
Speaking to media persons, Umar Nongjai, president All Kwakta Coordinating Committee stated that Chief Minister N Biren Singh initiated the War on Drugs' campaign to save the people from the menace of drugs.
"It is rather unfortunate that many people or groups are still involved in drug trafficking and ruining the society despite the efforts of the Government to eradicate the menace of drugs from the State", he added.
He further mentioned that the protest rally was staged to show that the people of Kwakta and Jamiatul Ulema Bishnupur District are against drug trafficking & drug abuse.
Earlier, a public meeting participated by Moirang AC MLA, Thongam Shanti and CSOs of Kwakta was held at the Conference Hall, Kwakta Municipal Council.
The meeting resolved to fight the menace of drugs and excommunicate anyone from Kwakta caught/found involved in trafficking or selling drugs.
