Imphal, November 19 2022:
The Gangte Students' Organisation has expressed anguish over "noncompletion" of PMGSY roads, Galkapkot village to Gamhui Part II and Galkapkot village to Gamhui Part III .
A sum of Rs 350.05 lakh was sanctioned for construction of 8 kilometers long Galkapkot village to Gamhui Part II road while Rs 390.38 lakh was sanctioned for Galkapkot village to Gamhui Part III, 9 kilometers stretch, said a statement of Gangte Students' Organisation.
In both cases, however, the work never took off.
Instead, a completion order for both was submitted on 31/03/2020, it claimed.
The roads in question, if constructed, would extremely benefit the people of Thanlon sub-division, Churachandpur district who are facing tremendous hardships due to lack of motorable roads, it said.
It appealed to the Government to take appropriate action against the defaulting agency, individuals and department concerned and initiate the construction work as soon as possible.
If no positive response comes out at the earliest, the Government must be held responsible for any untoward repercussions from the student body, it cautioned.
