Stage set for quarter finals of MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament

The quarter final line up of the 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2022-23 was completed yesterday with 8 teams sealing their spots.
ESU, Wangkhei will play PCC, Mayaikoibi at PCC ground in the first quarter final; RCA, Lilong will face PTCC, Patsoi Part III in the second quarter final match; TRAU, Kwakeithel will play TCMDC, Thongju in the third quarter final and AKSDO, Khangabok will play YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel in the last quarter final match.

TRAU made it to the quarter as Group C winners as they upstaged SU, Sagolband by 187 runs in the penultimate Group match yesterday for the third win at PTRC Ground.
Mutum Swabhiman starred in the match scoring a century (113 off 72 balls) for TRAU who were put in to bat first.
Ishorchandra Loithongjam in the meantime struck 72 before he departed for the second wicket after gathering 215 runs together with Swabhiman in 19.4 overs and helped TRAU give SU a target of 285 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 30 overs.
TRAU then rode on Treeny Arubam's 6-wicket haul (6/20) and Arubam Rohit Singh's three wicket haul (3/22) to bowl out SU for 97 runs in 23 overs.
Pradeep was SU's wrecker in chief picking up four wickets (4/46) while Philan Rajkumar picked two wickets in TRAU's innings.
The total could have been a bit lower had SU bowlers not conceded 69 extras.
Treeny Arubam of TRAU was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at PCC Ground, PTRC won by 83 runs against LCC, Lamsang in a Group A match but could not qualify for the quarters finishing third in the table with two wins in four matches.
PTRC racked up 169 runs for all wickets down in 18 overs after electing to bat first but managed to skittle out their rivals for 86 runs in 20 overs.
Henba Paonam (33 not out) and Laitonjam Jackson (30) were the main run getters for PTRC in their innings which saw Myson Lourembam and Okeson Ksh share three wickets each and Omega Senjam clinch two wickets.
In the chase, Okesh Ksh scored the highest 30 after a flurry of top order wickets with Venson Yumnam and Laitonjam Jackson picking two wickets each.
Henba Paonam of PTRC then claimed three wickets to completely devastate the LCC line up and walked away with the man of the match accolade.
