Imphal, February 02 2022:
Milan Chanu hit a half century and took 3 wickets to help THAU-A post an impressive 216 run victory over AKSDO, Khangabok in the 1st MNCA Women's One Day Trophy 2021-22 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam today.
Put to bat first in a match that was truncated to 20 overs an innings due to last night rain, the Thangmeiband team got off to a solid start with Seterny Devi Brahmacharimayum and Kalpana Devi Keisham punishing the AKSDO bowlers and posted a total of a massive 250 total losing only three wickets in 20 overs.

It took 10.2 overs for AKSDO bowlers to clinch the first wicket in the form of Kalpana who was just five runs away from hitting her half century via Puspabati Devi Khundrakpam who also removed Ronibala Chanu Thokchom cheaply on 1 run.
Seterny Devi, however anchored well and put up a strong 4th wicket stand with Milan Chanu Yambem and both finished with half centuries (75 off 56 not out and 62 off 28) respectively to hand THAU-A a dominating total.
The tally could have been curtailed had the AKSDO bowlers been careful to avoid 69 extra runs.Pushpabati Devi returned with the best bowling figure of 2/45 in 4 overs for the Khangabok team while her compatriot Sofia Saikhom picked 1 wickets for 57 runs in 3 overs.
Milan Chanu Yambem (3 for 6 in 4 overs which include 2 maidens) and Seterny Devi (2 for 6 in 4 overs of which 1 was maiden) then devastated AKSDO batting line up in the chase and forced them to finish the innings for a meagre 34/8 in 20 overs.
Interestingly, Milan and Seterny sent two batters of AKSDO packings on ducks in this innings which saw Mehanas top scoring with 9 runs off 28 deliveries.
THAU-A's Kiranbala Chanu Haorungbam (1/3 in 2 overs) and Rani Devi Chingangbam (1/10 in 4 overs) also fetched a wicket each to put a strong pressure on AKSDO today and help THAU-A extend winning streak to 2 .
Y Milan, who shone with both the bat and the ball was named woman of the match.
PTCC, Patsoi will play THAU-B, Thangmeiband in the next match tomorrow.
