Imphal, February 02 2022:
Former Chief Minister O Ibobi has stated that the BJP Governments at the Centre and the State are only good at delivering empty promises.
Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhavan today, the CLP leader said that the BJP led NDA Government which is about to complete 8 years is still not fed up of empty talks and the same is being mimicked by the State Government.
Saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been campaigning for Swachh Bharat for years and introduced the Smart City project, O Ibobi asked if there is any evidence of implementing the Swachh Bharat and Smart City project in Imphal city.
Before Swachh Bharat was launched, the people of the country used to observe National Cleanliness Day on the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation MK Gandhi on October 2 regularly, the former Chief Minister reminded.
Has the Solid Waste Management Plant at Lamdeng started functioning fully, he asked and added that there is nothing personal in raising such a question as it was done so in the interest of the people.

Manipur was declared as the best performing small State during BJP regime by India Today, Ibobi said and reasoned that the Planning Commission of India whose name had been changed to Niti Aayog also grade the the performance of all States and classified Manipur as the worst.
People might want to know which grading system is true among the two, Ibobi said.
The BJP led Government had also promised employment generation and reviving Loitang Khunou Spinning Mill and MST, Ibobi continued and reasoned that it is not the blank promises that matter but the deliverance of the same solidly.
Ibobi further asked if Manipur still enjoys "Special Category Status" as the same was discussed profoundly in the 2017 GST Council meeting.
He further stated that the Centre considering finalising the Budget size based on the availability of resources is regrettable as Manipur has limited resources.
These Governments at the Centre and the State are only good at lip services, Ibobi reiterated.
AICC Manipur in charge Bhakta Charan Das maintained that the BJP led Government in the State has brushed aside all its assurance instead of working on it.
People vividly remember the restriction put by RBI from withdrawing money from exchequer when Manipur faced overdraft, he added.
The BJP led Government is also unable to manage the ISBT which was handed down by the Congress and still cannot complete the construction of Secretariat office buildings, BC Das continued and maintained that despite this, the BJP built its office like a 5 star hotel.
Manipur is a failed State in terms of infrastructure, he concluded.
MPCC president N Loken also attended the press briefing.
