Ayushman cards distributed, health camp held

44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector AR/ IGAR (East) on Wednesday distributed Ayushman CAPF cards to all eligible beneficiaries.
In a release, PRO (DW) informed that 44 AR commandant handed aver the card to first beneficiary in a ceremony and said that the e-card will help in availing all entitled medical benefits under Ayushman CAPF scheme.
For the first use, the card has to be verified at the empanelled hospital.
However, services under the scheme can be availed even without the card, he said and informed that all eligible personnel and their dependents will have access to OPD and IPD treatment in CGHS and PM-JAY empanelled private hospital as per existing norms and through referral.
Reimbursement will be applicable for OPD/IPD care availed in public hospitals and in non-empanelled private hospitals in case of emergency.
It may be mentioned that Ayushman CAPF scheme was launched by the government of India on January 23, 2021 and is being implemented across the country in a phased manner.
The joint initiative by the MHA and the National Health Authority will provide cashless healthcare services to the serving CAPF personnel and their dependents through Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY IT platform.
This initiative will help in moving away from paper based manual process of availing healthcare benefits by CAPF personnel and their families to a paperless service at NHA's IT platform.
In addition, a 24x7 call centre, online grievance management system, fraud and abuse control system and real time monitoring dashboards are other key features of the scheme, added the PRO.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted a medical camp at Heingang village in Imphal West district on Tuesday as part of Operation Sadbhavna Project.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the medical camp was organised to assist the villagers who have no access to basic healthcare services.
Medical team from Assam Rifles carried out the health checkup of 250 villagers to assess their health status.
The individuals diagnosed with severe diseases have been referred to Civil Hospital for detailed examination.
The medical camp culminated with distribution of essential medicines to villagers, it added.
