Imphal, February 02 2022:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that the Congress party forming a pre poll alliance with five Left parties is a confirmation of them being a weak party as it is natural for the shaky parties to form a group.
Speaking to the media at BJP office today, N Biren asked what significant result will Congress get by sealing a pact with the parties which could not produce even a Pradhan or Ward Member let alone an MLA.
On denying BJP ticket to three sitting MLAs, the Chief Minister said that the high command of the party might not have seen the winnability factors in them.
He further stated that the party ticket was given by the BJP Parliamentary board based on the series of surveys conducted by the Central leaders.
"The party can only give one ticket each for the 60 seats of Manipur," he added.
He lauded BJP members for not creating a scene out of ticket issues with exception to a few Constituencies.
Saying that BJP has not formed a pre-poll alliance with any party, the Chief Minister said that BJP took help from certain parties while it was weak but now it has the strength.
"The BJP might form a pact after studying the post poll scenario, but that is not guaranteed," he added.
The BJP is still committed to win over 40 seats in the election, the Chief Minister said.
