Supporters of intending candidate of Khurai AC storm RPI (A) Office

Supporters of Heisnam Subash, RPI (A) intending candidate in Khurai AC tried to storm the party office at Keishampat at around 6.30 pm today after he was denied a party ticket for the upcoming election.
However, timely intervention by a team of Imphal West police prevented the crowd from causing any untoward incident at the site.
The incident took place after the announcement of the first phase list of candidates of the Republican Party of India (Athawale) today which left the supporters of Heisnam Subash disappointed.
Speaking to the media persons in front of RPI ( Athawale) office Heisnam Subash stated that he was approached by the office bearer of RPI Athawale to joined their party and fight election from their party ticket but while announcing the party tickets his name was dropped and it was given to Khagokpam Khamba, who had joined the party only yesterday after failing to secure a JD(U) ticket.
He also condemned such betrayal by RPI (Athawale) towards him and said politics should go hand to hand with discipline and respect.
Heisnam Subash added that he will contest the upcoming election but whether he will join another party or will contest as an independent candidate will be decided later.
The supporters who tried to storm the office of RPI (Athawale) office were brought under the control by a team of Imphal West district police led by Additional SP .
