Imphal, July 07 2015 :
On behalf of the CorCom, its convenor Kh Pambei has saluted all the revolutionary cadres as well as civilians who have been killed or maimed by adversary forces in the course of the liberation movement.
On the occasion of the committee's 4th foundation day, the Convenor has also greeted the masses as well as leaders and cadres of all member parties.
According to a statement issued by the Convenor, CorCom firmly believes that Manipur (Kangleipak) is the home of all indigenous people of the land.
All the people living in Manipur should have equal rights and each community respect and uphold the identity of one
another.
It is also committed to the ideology of 'co-existence and collective development' .
Territorial integrity of Manipur and collective identity of all the indigenous people is closely associated with the Nation building process of an independent country.
Manipur's integrity has received international recognition and it is the bounden duty of all the indigenous people to safeguard the integrity of Manipur.
CorCom would always act as the vanguard in all National duties.
To safeguard the integrity of Manipur, sovereignty is paramount and India which has been trampling upon the freedom of Manipur is the arch-enemy.
As such, the first priority of Manipur is abolition of the alleged colonial regime and restore Manipur's sovereignty.
Given the politico-economic changes seen across the world, independence at a historical period of time cannot be the only solid ground for a Nation's struggle for freedom.
Four elements accepted by the UN as indispensable for Nation or people is survival, well-being, identity and freedom.
One of the greatest challenges to the people of Manipur is its location in the neighbourhood of India which has a total population of 1.20 billion.
If the present trend of influx continues for the next 5/10 years, (mainland) Indian population in Manipur would reach 10/15 lakhs.
With the support of India military forces, a sinister policy of planting migrant population in different corners of Manipur is being executed.
Moreover, the State Government has formulated and constituted crisis management group, State level crisis management group, core group and district level crisis management group in order to protect Indian migrant labourers.
Rather than taking any measures for protection of indigenous people, the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers (MRVTMW) Bill 2015 was passed at the behest of the State Assembly for the welfare of migrants.
The total area of Western South East Asia (WESEA) is 255,511 Sq Kms and it has a total population of 44.98 million which is just 3.7 per cent of the total population of India.
Seen from the perspectives of topography, places of origin and their cultures, people settled in WESEA have greater affinity to South East Asia.
As such it would be more correct to identify the region as Western South East Asia (WESEA) .
Although there are some external differences, people of WESEA share common historical evolution as well as many similarities in terms of places of origin, traditions and economic inter-dependence.
The region is passing through a critical phase where not only its independence but all the unique identities of the indigenous peoples are under serious threats of complete dilution.
Oneness of WESEA is being consolidated since the recent past and now the oppressed people have started joining a new, common current.
Given this situation, Manipur can no longer remain isolated.
The political destiny of WESEA or India's North East should be decided collectively.
It's only a matter of time before all the oppressed peoples of WESEA unite against the common enemy.
Whether WESEA should take the form of a federation after independence would be decided by the impending revolution, Pambei concluded.
