AMSU unit opened
Bishnupur Higher Secondary School unit of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) was opened yesterday.
The new AMSU unit was opened by Kh Shining, coordination and networking secretary of AMSU Bishnupur district committee and L Sharika, its information and publicity secretary.
Accordingly, Wahengbam Robin Singh and Ajay Ningthoujam have been nominated as the president and secretary of the new AMSU unit respectively.
Rape denounced
The Forum of Organisations Working for Disability has strongly condemned the rape of a disabled girl by one Chongtham Rojit alias Ronald on July 1.In a statement, the forum demanded stringent punishment against the rapist.
It also urged the Govt to initiate measures to prevent the recurrence of such detestable crimes.
The forum is ready to launch intense forms of agitation if the demands are not met.
HCMBA
Members of the High Court of Manipur Bar Association are informed that a verification committee of the Bar Association has been constituted to verify and issue the requisite certificate of practice and place of practice certificate as per BCI rules.
All advocates have been asked to collect, fill and submit the forms available in the office of HCMBA latest by July 11 without fail, according to a statement issued by the HCMBA.
Chandel club elects new officials
Ts Joanand, Bs Moloveson, Rd Wolnihring, Nl Akimla, Rd Kolni, Lh Brownson and Kt Demos have been elected the president, vice president, general secretary, finance secretary, games & sports, social & culture and information & publicity secretary respectively of Hnahringkhu Youth Club, affiliated under DSA Chandel for the tenure 2015-18, during a general body meeting held yesterday, our correspondent reports.
NSS special camp concludes
A six-day special camp programme organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, Thoubal College from July 1 concluded today at the College premises in the presence of Thoubal College Principal O Chaoba Devi and NSS programme officers L Romendro Singh and Kh Imo Singh, a statement informed.
A social service camp, a tree plantation drive and a Digital India Week programme was conducted during the camp.
