Imphal, July 07 2015 :
On the occasion of its 8th anniversary the Coordination Committee (CorCom) has paid fitting revolutionary salute to all who have died and wounded in the 'hands of the enemy' during the course of armed struggle against the 'Indian hegemony' .
On Tuesday, Convenor of CorCom, Kh Pambei in a statement greeted the people, party leadership and all members on behalf of the committee on the occasion.
It's an unyielding stance of the committee that Manipur (Kangleipak) undeniably belongs to all communities which have been living together since ages, it stated and vowed to back all groups in protecting the territorial integrity of the land, which is the inescapable task of all ethnic communalities.
Referring to 'sovereignty' of the people, the statement said that CorCom reviles India's control over the people, which is characterized by pain and suffering, and asserted for survival, well-being, identity and freedom of the people while setting down all desolation caused by the 'Indian regime' .
It said the people have faced a very tricky situation by being a neighbour to India whose population has reached 1.20 billion and cautioned that the Indian population in Manipur is expected to increase by 14-15 lakh in the next five-ten years.
CorCom also criticized Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh for allegedly working against the wish of the people by passing the "Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers (MRVTMW) Bill 2015" which aims to safeguard outsiders and migrants without paying heed to the people's aspiration.
Stating that the size of Western Southeast Asia (WESEA) region is nearly 2,55,511sq km (98,653 sq miles), it added that the region has a total population of 44.98 million which is about 3.7 percent of the Indian population.
It said the physical feature of the region clearly shows togetherness of its natives and hence Kangleipak cannot remain separated from the region.
