NPF gears up for LS polls at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, February 12 2014:
In an attempt to strengthen better ties with the people of the State, a team of Naga People's Front (NPF) led by Kipili Sangtam, Parliamentary Secretary (Power), Govt of Nagaland along with L Khumo Khiamungam, MLA & advisor NEPED, Nagaland; ER Picto Shohe, MLA & chairman NHL, Nagaland; Samuel Risom, Ukhrul AC MLA and other eminent leaders of NPF visited Ukhrul today.
The NPF leaders reiterated that it would field a candidate in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the coming LS poll, but the final decision lies with the party's higher authority.
The NPF leaders were tight-lipped about the detailed groundwork of the NPF.
Meanwhile, Kipili laid the Foundation stone for office building of Tangkhul Youth Council (TMNL) at TNL Ground No 2 .
MLA Samuel Risom said the party, among other activities, is giving priority to strengthen better ties with Naga brethren of Nagaland and Burma.
Kipili while addressing a gathering today called upon active participation of the youth in the reconciliation process.
Calling upon all concerned to shun violence, Kipili said violence would only increase hatred within the community.
The NPF is the only right platform to lay down the grievances of Nagas.
Since after the NPF came into power in Nagaland, it becomes a platform to spell out the problems, grievances and rights of the Nagas, he said.
Saying that right is might, Kipili also advised the NPF workers to cultivate and uphold good manner in order to win the trust of the public.
In an another function, the NPF Chingai unit, Ukhrul today organised a felicitation and reception function of new members who mostly defected from the INC.
More than 50 of them were feted at Rayotang, Ukhrul at the resident of Ukhrul Division unit president Paul Muinao.
