AMUCO celebrates 21st birthday

Safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur was the main reason for which the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) was established in 1993, said former president of the organisation, Khaidem Mani while speaking at the 21st foundation day of AMUCO which was held at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai, community hall here today.
Advocate Khaidem Mani maintained that AMUCO was not formed to revolt against any caste or creed, but was an initiative taken up to protect the territory of Manipur and enhance the relationship among the people.
The foundation day was also attended by Dr..YMani, president AMUCO, Th.Iboyaima, president, Irabot Foundation, Manipur, Memchoubi Devi, president, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur and many other founder members of the organisation.
Further in his speech, Mani said that the people of the state need to maintain mutual understanding among themselves and try to stand in defense from their common enemy.
Any external force which tries to break the territorial integrity of Manipur should be fought and defended with the instrument of unity, he said.
AMUCO's main objective is focused on bringing out the faults in the government and mend the flaws so that territorial integrity is secured, he added.
Regarding the recent racist attacks faced by people of the North East in the national capital, Kh.
Mani strongly condemns the act and said that it is very shameful for the Indian democracy.
