Manipur State AIDS Control Society Employees' Association (MACSEA) today suspended its relay hunger and relaxes its indefinite strike.
MACS employees will resume their normal duties from 13th February; however employees will wear black badge protesting the anomalies in fixation of remunerations and support the all India strike.
The decision to relax indefinite strike which started from 30th January and to suspend the relay hunger strike which began on 7th February 2014, was arrived at during a general body meeting of the Association held at RD Wing Lamphelpat here today.
The resolution came after Department of AIDS Control (DAC), NACO constituted Anomaly Committee to look into the matter and holding of its order dated 9th January 2014, which prompted the all India strike.
The meeting discussed and endrosed assurance given by Project Director, MACS to send reminder to DAC, NACO regarding employees' demands.
The general body meeting also discussed issues relating to diminishing stocks at ART centres and suspension of services at various service centres across the state among others.
Therefore, it was resolved to reopen services across the state and to provide continuous services to PLHIVs in the larger interest of the society.
Meanwhile, MACSEA has appealed to all its members to wear black badge and resume their normal duties from 13th February.
