Imphal, February 12 2014:
The cash incentive of Rs one lakh to be given by State Government to each of the successful candidates of the State in NDA and CDS recruitment examinations have been kept withheld unreasonably.
The order for awarding cash incentives to NDA/CDS successful candidates was issued by Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms of State Govt on July 2, 2012 .
The cash incentive has been instituted primarily to motivate the youths of the State into joining the armed forces.
As many as 97 candidates from the State have cleared the NDA and CDS recruitment examinations during the last two years.
Subsequently, they have applied for the incentive to the State Academy of Training way back in 2012, but the cash incentives have not been disbursed to them till date.
Most of the successful candidates are currently undergoing training while some of them have already passed out from the training academies and are now serving in the defence forces.
Parents of the successful candidates have been urging the State officials to sanction the cash incentives, but nothing good has been taken up so far.
Some disgruntled parents told Hueiyen Lanpao that the State officials are dilly-dallying the process of sanctioning the incentive amount.
The Additional Director of State Academy of Training has sought verification of the successful candidates from the Defence Ministry, but such defence matters have not been disclosed as they are not questionable by the State Government.
The certificates and documents enclosed with the application forms are sufficient enough for the claim, but the officials are doing irrelevant things just to withhold the cash incentives, they alleged.
The parents now feel that it would not be wise for them to waste their valuable time going after the officials.
However, they want the officials to know their responsibility and sanction the cash incentives as soon as possible.
