FOB organises ICOP on SVEEP

Imphal, February 25 2022:
A one-day Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised by Field Outreach Bureau, Senapati of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting at Kholep village in Kangpokpi district on Friday.
The programme was attended by Kholep village chairman Kaithang Haokip and UJB School, Kholep headmistress Jangkhohling as presdium members, while SVEEP Kangpokpi nodal officer Muan Tombing spoke as resource person.
While giving the keynote address, FOB, Senapati field publicity officer Waribam Urmila stated that the ICOP was organised to create awareness among the people about the general electoral process before the upcoming elections.
Muan Tombing explained briefly about SVEEP and mentioned that voter turnout was very less in Kangpokpi District and encouraged the young voters especially, to turn up in large number and take part in the decision-making process of the government.
While urging people to have trust in the election machinery, he maintained that the election department is working very hard to ensure that the electoral process goes smoothly and ethically.
Later, a quiz competition was conducted and prizes distributed to the winners.
