Trained Nurses Association of India-Manipur State Branch (TNAI-MSB) has extended moral support to the agitation of All Manipur Health Services Doctors' Association (AMHSDA), until their demands are accepted by the Government of Manipur.
In a release, TNAI-MSB president N Tangbi Devi and secretary Th Binodini Devi informed that it took the decision as per the meeting resolution of its Executive Committee held January 16 regarding the on-going strike by AMHSDA.
The meeting resolved that the demands of AMHSDA are in line with the prevailing conditions across of the world and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced on May 31, 2016 that retirement age of government doctors will be raised to 65 years.
As continuation of the doctors' agitation would eventually lead to collapse of the healthcare sector, the government should consider the issue as an urgent matter for redressal in the interest of the public and, it added.
