CM inspects Mondum Mahadev, Pumlen Pat

Imphal, February 20 2023: Chief Minister N Biren Singh went on an inspection tour at Mondum Mahadev and Pumlen Pat and attended a public meeting at Tokpaching, Kakching, today.

At the public meeting, the Chief Minister said that the Government is here for the public while deliberating on the various schemes implemented in the State including CMHT, Har Ghar Jal, Ayushman Bharat, CMST, etc.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Hiyanglam AC MLA Dr Y Radheshyam, Loktak Development Authority Chairman M Asnikumar and others in the inspection tour.

The Chief Minister mainly inspected Pumlen Pat and Mondum Mahadev Temple.

The Chief Minister went on to state that the area has several historically relevant sites such as Mondum Mahadev, Khuman Pokpa, Moirang Kangleirol, Pumlen Pat, etc.

Saying that he visited the area to bring development, N Biren highlighted several development works taken up by the Government recently such as development of Chivu Chandrakirti Park at Behiang, Marjing Polo Complex, Manipur Heritage Park, Sangai Ethnic Park, Olympian Park, etc.

On carrying out eviction drives in the area, the Chief Minister said that those who have been settling there before the notification of Reserved Forest Area would be provided pattas.

He, however, appealed to the locals to not build structures on the water bodies and preserve the lake.

"We are trying to bring development to the entire State," the Chief Minister added.

N Biren also gave a green signal to continue the conservation works at Pumlen Pat to attract more tourists while appealing to all concerned to make the lake clean by August.
