Imphal, February 20 2023:
REYS rode on Laishram Daniel's unbeaten half century to post a 4-wicket win over SCCC-Singjamei today in the 12th encounter of the 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2022-23 .
Opting to bat first here at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, SCCC were able to pile up 168 runs for 9 wickets but the total proved small to their Singjamei rivals who completed the chase within 28.4 overs for their first win.
SCCC had a sloppy start to their innings with SCCC's bowler Romario removing both the openers cheaply- Jaali Ahmed Chisti (6-ball duck) and Ulenyai Khwairakpam (3-ball 1) in the first over and third over respectively.

SCCC further slipped to 26/3 in 10/5 overs from 9/2 in 2.3 overs as Rahul Chandra got stumped by wicketkeeper Laishram Daniel off Kiran Laishram's delivery.
Lishan Meitei Khaidem who came in for Jaali Ahmed paired up well with skipper Sandeep Chakraborty to redeem the early losses and forged a fourth wicket partnership of 92 runs off 120 deliveries before Sandeep holed out to Md Basir Rahaman for 58 runs off Alfred Hmar's delivery as the scoreboard read 118 in 30 overs.
With SCCC bowlers then took gradual control of the innings restricting the run flow and picking up wickets in regular intervals.
It was Alfred Hmar to proved destructive for SCCC as he went on to grab wickets of Lishan Meitei (59 off 107 balls), Pinkey Sanasam (golden duck) and Basant (11) to wrap up the innings at 168 and returned with best bowling figures of 4/51 in 8 overs.
Romario also claimed the eighth wicket of the innings in the form of Oinam Pradeep to finish with the bowling figures of 3/32 in 7 overs which include one maiden.
Needing 169 for the win, REYS kept the run flowing with Laishram Daniel Meitei playing anchor despite Pinkey Sanasam (3/23 in 8 overs) and Lishan Meitei (2/40 in 7 overs) running riot across their line up.
After they were reduced to 30 for 2, Daniel saw Sougrakpam Shangkar depart for 44-ball 30 and resurrected the chase from 92 for 6 in 20.3 with Alfred Hmar (27 not out) to take his team to winning 172 in 28.4 overs by bringing up his 63-ball 84 courtesy 12 boundaries (9 fours and 3 sixes) .
Laishram Daniel deservingly walked away with the man of the match accolade.
