CSOs, students' body inspect schools 6 college

Noney, February 20 2023:
As a part of its annual inspection and under Clean Education' mission, the Longmai Students' Union (LSU) along with Longmai Village Authority, Longmai Youth league and representatives of Longmai area CSOs conducted a special inspection of schools, college, hostels and boarding houses (both private and government) across Longmai in Noney district on Monday.
The inspection was aimed at identifying and bringing uniformity in the functioning of educational institutions for quality education in the area.
Basic classroom infrastructure, health & hygiene, fees structure, documents, staff list, timetable, assessment history, safety procedures, etc., were looked into and assessment and measures were also sought in areas where lapses were identified during the inspection.
At Tengkonjang Hr Sec School, which is also the only government-run higher institute, the inspection team found shortage of Physics lecturer, Mathematics graduate teacher, English graduate teacher, Science graduate teacher, and non-teaching - LDC, Peon, Grade IV, staff - apart from absence of fulltime principal.
The team urged the government and relevant authority to fill up these posts as soon as possible and ensure smooth functioning.
In view of the upcoming class X, XI & XII exams, the team also handed outs pens and other materials to the candidates at schools and also extended its best wishes to all the student candidates, while calling for free and fair exam.
