Kangpokpi, February 20 2023:
Thadou Students' Association, General Headquarters on Monday submitted a representation to chief minister imploring for immediate appointment of successful candidates of the MCSCCE, 2016 (2022) conducted as per the Supreme Court order.
The students' body conveyed to the chief minister its utter shock over the non-appointment of Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination candidates to their respective posts, even after three months of declaring the result by the Manipur Public Service Commission on November 22, 2022 .
It also conveyed its disappointment that the Offer Form' issued on December 31, 2022, was later cancelled ambiguously.
TSA has its highest regard to the efficiency and transparency of the present government but is surprised to come across the news report of the non-appointment of successful MCSCCE 2016(2022) candidates, it added.
The body also urged the chief minister to ensure complete adherence to the landmark judgment of the Supreme Court Order dated 11-02-2022 passed in SLP(C) No 5680/2021 vide No 3, i.e., the successful candidates, upon reappointment, will be given the continuity of service and consequential benefits if they been re-appointed previously in the same post.
Pointing out shortage of civil services officers, particularly the Sub-Deputy Collectors (SDCs), the students' body stated that the appointment of the present MCSCCE 2016(2022) successful candidates will provide 48 SDCs.
Moreover, the state government has already, through the MPSC, requested for recruitment of another 33 SDC officers for the MCSCCE, 2022, it added.
TSA further stated that the terminated candidates of the MCSCCE, 2016 who are successful again in the re-conducted MCSCCE along with the newly successful candidates have undergone undue hardship and victimization.
Therefore, TSA urged the government to appoint these candidates without further delay.
It further pointed out that as per notification of the MPSC on December 07, 2022, the total number of posts/services has increased from 70 to 100 posts in MCSCCE, 2022 vice cancellation of MCSCCE, 2019.Delays in the appointment process will only hinder process for recruitment of the proposed 100 posts/services.
Thus, the immediate appointment of the MCSCCE, 2016(2022) is the need of the hour, TSA reasoned.
Urging the chief minister to ensure that the youth of Manipur are not victimised again, TSA General Headquarters appealed to the chief minister for giving instructions for the issuance of appointment letter/offer form to the successful candidates of MCSCCE 2016(2022) for the sake of justice and fairness.
