Film appreciation course kicks off

A 15-day 'Film Appreciation Course' kicked off today at the Classroom Theatre of Manipur State Film and Television Institute (MSFTI), Palace Gate.
The film appreciation course is being organised by MSFTI in association with International Federation of Film Critics-India (FIPRESCI-India) to improve the status of Manipuri films and to impart film related knowledge to the film fraternity.
The topics which will be discussed during the course include evolution of cinema, film theories and cultural theories; traditional media and art forms; digital revolution; topics related to North-east and Manipuri cinema; institutionalization of film production, future of Manipuri films, impacts of films on society etc.

Renowned film personalities namely Vidyashankar, founder and artistic director, Bangalore Film Festival; Dr Pranjal Borah, Associate Professor and award-winning critic; Dr Meenakshi Dutta, Assistant Professor and cinema scholar; Meghachandra Kongbam, National Award winning film critic among others will be the resource persons of the 15-day course.
A total of 25 delegates are participating in the course.
