KMWO celebrates 3rd Foundation Day

Kangleipak Minority Welfare Organisation (KMWO) celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day on the theme of Apunba Saktam Kaiba Yaroi amasung Tunggi Yumbirol Kansi' (Let's protect our unity and future generations), at Manipur Press Club here Thursday.
The celebration was attended by Paradise High School, Thoubal founder principal Dr Ranjit; Ibotombi Institute of Education principal Dr RK Bijen; Federation of Civil Society Organisation president Manihar; DIET Kakching principal K Rad-hakanta; Little Star Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Haokha principal Yumnam Ranjit; Meira Paibi Welfare Organisation Kakching Khunou secretary Kh Binata; All Manipur Students' Guardian Organisation general secretary Sumati Sougrakpam and KMWO president Md Nasir Khan as presidium members.
As part of the event, students belonging to Meitei Pangal community who secured positions in the Top 25 of the Class X examinations were felicitated, along with the toppers of a GK competition held on July 5.In his speech, KMWO president Md Nasir Khan said that the organisation will continue to work for the welfare of the students regardless of community or religion.
He then described as worrisome that majority of the students who participated in the GK competition could not answer 70 per cent of the questions based on the state's history.
Thus, there is the need on the part of the government to see to more inclusion of the state's history in school syllabi, he stressed.
