Sikkim, Assam prevail in NE Women's League

Imphal, July 14 2022:
Sikkim Pandas and Assam Rhinos registered contrasting wins in the 1st North East Women's Football League 2022 on Thursday.
Sikkim started the day with a hard-fought 1-0 success against Meghalaya Leopards at SAI Sports Complex, Takyel.
Barring the goal, the two teams were evenly matched throughout the game.
It was Naocha who drilled home the winner in the second minute of first-half added time.
Assam, meanwhile, cruised to a 3-0 win over Mizoram Black Bears as Pakhila Boro starred for the Rhinos.
Pakhila was unstoppable at the other end as she opened the scoring in the 36th minute and then doubled the lead in the 75th minute before she completed her hat-trick in the 77th minute to close out the contest in style.
Friday (July 15)'s fixtures will see Arunachal Pradesh Tigers take on Nagaland Wild Hogs and Tripura Pythons play Manipur Sangais.
