Manipur crowned sub-jr national Wushu champs

Imphal, July 14 2022:
Manipur were crowned overall team champions of the 22nd Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship 2022 which wrapped at Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, on Thursday.
The state boys and girls ended their triumphant campaign with 31 gold, 17 silver and 18 bronze medals.
On the final day of the competition, Manipur added four gold and six bronze medals to their tally.
Kekenaobi Nongmaithem (27kg category) claimed the top podium honours in the boys' Sanshou event while fellow Nongmaithem Pam-heiba Singh (30kg) won the boys' Sanshou event.
Also who dazzled in the boys' U-14 in the Sanshou competition were Mayanglambam Rohit Singh who bagged the gold medal in the 48kg category and Laishram Rahul Singh who clinched the gold in the 60kg category.
Among the bronze medallists were Wahengbam Niraj (boys' 33kg Sanshou event), Ningthouiam Tejkumar Singh (boys' 36kg Sanshou), Laishram Devinita Devi (girls' 21kg Sanshou), Hijam Elina Devi (girls' 30kg Sanshou), Shelly Naoroibam (girls' 33kg Sanshou) and Nongmaithem Priyabati Devi (girls' 36kg Sanshou) .
