Ministers inspect DH Bishnupur

Bishnupur, July 14 2022:
Following the warning given by United Development Committee (UDC), Bishnupur of launching agitation if the requirements of District Hospital Bishnupur are not addressed at the earliest, health minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh and works minister Govindas Konthoujam assessed the existing condition of the district hospital on Thursday.
During the inspection, the two ministers were accompanied by Health Services director Dr K Rajo Singh, Bishnupur chief medical officer Dr L Raichandra Singh, DH medical superintendent Dr N Bino Singh, deputy commissioner L Bikram Singh, UDC secretary M Bilkee Singh and treasurer N Bimola Devi.
After patiently hearing all the complaints of UDC with regard to condition of the DH, minister Dr Ranjan assured that very soon 10 beds will be kept reserved at the district hospital for telemedicine and will provide all other requirements of the hospital.
Stating that recruitment of 300 medical officers through MPSC has been delayed'due to Court case, the minister mentioned that government is planning to recruit doctors on contract basis, if needed.
He also assured that Union ministry will be approached for funds for construction of staff quarters for DH Bishnupur, while adding that he will make utmost effort to remove the tag of refer hospital from DH Bishnupur.
Doctors of the DH who are on deputation will also be made to return back after their deputation ends, the minister further assured.
Appealing to all to take booster dose of Covid-19 vaccine in view of the rising cases, Dr S Ranjan conveyed that if required vaccine centres will be opened up in various areas.
On the other hand, minister Govindas Konthoujam stated that the DH Bishnupur Management Committee will be reformed as soon as possible.
As the hospital is under his constituency, he will do his best to fill up its requirements, he assured.
The minister also urged public to stringently follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.
