Assembly session to have 11 sittings

Imphal, July 14 2022:
The 2nd session of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly scheduled to be held from July 25 till August 5 will have 11 sittings.
Business Advisory Committee (BAC) finalised the number of sittings and schedules for the session during a meeting held Thursday at the office chamber of speaker Th Satyabrata.
Unlike in the past, the upcoming assembly session will have sittings on Saturday.
The BAC meeting convened by speaker Satyabrata and attended by chief minister N Biren and other members of the committee also decided that the first sitting on July 25 will have obituary reference, if any, followed by presentation of second report of BAC-2022, demands for excess grants for the year 2017-18, budget estimates for the year 2022-23, motion for vote on accounts for the year 2022-23, discussion on Governor's address and introduction of government bill (s), if any.
The second sitting of the session on July 26 will have questions and answers, general discussion on budget estimates for the year 2022-23, discussion and voting on demands for excess grants for the year 2017-18, and introduction of Manipur Appropriation (No 3) Bill, 2022 and Manipur Appropriation (No 5) Bill, 2022.On July 27, the sitting will consist of questions and answers, discussion and voting on demands for grants, 2022-23 for departments including Public Health Engineering, consideration and passing of Manipur Appropriation (No 3 & 5) Bill and motion for election to the three financial committees.
After holiday on July 31, the session will resume on August 1 and the day's (seventh) sitting will have questions and answers, discussion and voting on demands for grants, 2022-23 for some departments including police and relief and disaster management.
Further sittings on August 2,3 and 4 will have similar schedules.
The concluding sitting for the session on August 5 will have questions and answers, other businesses, if any, introduction of Manipur Appropriation (No 4) Bill-2022, consideration and passing of Manipur Appropriation (No 4) Bill-2022, consideration and passing of government Bills, if any, and private members business, if any.
