Let's save our future from drugs: Dr Ranjan

Health minister Dr S Ranjan Singh has appealed to all to come forward and save the state's future generation from drugs.
Speaking as the chief guest of an awareness programme on 'Drug Abuse Prevention' jointly organised by Bamdiar Apunba Meira Paibi and Chingthang Lairembi VLF Bamdiar in Konthoujam AC on Thursday, Dr Ranjan cautioned that ill effects of drug abuse has caused a serious threat to human society.
While stating that the government under chief minister N Biren has launched the campaign of War on Drugs with the objective to curb and control drug abuse and its menace, he conceded that the government alone cannot solve the problem of drug abuse.
"Cooperation of the public, civil societies, NGOs, parents and other related stakeholders is very much needed.
Our society will sink one day if we don't solve this issue at the earliest", he remarked.
The event was also attended by Nambol police station OC Nabakanta Sharma, Yarou Bamdiar GP pradhan L Sorojini, upa-prad-han Thongam Jiten Singh and ward members among others.
