Senapati, February 25 2022: Flag hoisting ceremony of BJP candidate in Mao assembly constituency S Alexander Maikho was held at Senapati Mini Stadium on Thursday with BJP Manipur vice president N Nimbus and BJP Manila Morcha national secretary Sumitra Laloo as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, S Alexander Maikho expressed keen desire to bring visible changes in the lives of people through infrastructural development, economic and social advancement.

He also vowed to undertake development projects with special focus on good road connectivity, water supply, regular power supply, recreational and sports facilities, education and skill development, youth and women empowerment, better healthcare and sanitation.

In their address, Sumitra Laloo said BJP is committed to development and pointed out the BJP led government obliterated bandhs, bloodsheds and brought peace and prosperity in the region, while N Nimbus elaborated' on the various developmental projects taken up by the N Biren-led government in the state in the last five years.

Nimbus also maintained that except for some assembly segments in Kangpokpi, Churachandpur and Tamenglong districts, BJP did not do well in the hill districts in the last election.

However, with the coming of the Biren-led BJP government to power since 2017, the government has brought better relationship among people.

People have confidence on the party as the CM has been visiting every district and taking stock of what is lacking in these places.

With this growing confidence of the people on BJP, the party will have more than 10 BJP MLAs from the hill districts out of 20 seats this time, he maintained.
