MSSA warns of cease work strike

Manipur Secretariat Services' Association (MSSA) has declared that cease work strike will be launched by its government employee members from September 5 in denunciation of non-fulfilment of its demands.
In a memorandum submitted to the state's chief secretary on Wednesday, the Association demanded increase of grade pay scale of Secretariat Group-D employees by Rs 1800, Rs 4200 for caretaker post, Rs 4600 for ASO/SO and by Rs 4800 for PS.
It also demanded increase of DA of state government's employees with effect from year 2023 at par with the central government's rate and issue a notice in this regard at the earliest, Release of pending retirement benefit and pensions are the other demands mentioned in the memorandum apart from raising objections against re-engaging of retired employees.
The Association further demanded filling up of vacant post, complete pending promotion processes and quash the National Pension Scheme immediately.
It also demanded authorities concerned to revoke the transfer order of Secretariat Assistant (GAD) M Romen to Manipur Bhavan in Kolkata on August 2.Stating that an MSSA executive meeting has resolved to resort to cease work strike from September 5, the memorandum urged the government to honour its demands at the earliest.
