MAC holds 6th Biennial Convention 2022

Imphal, August 31 2022:
Manipuri Association of Canada (MAC) organised its 6th Biennial convention virtually in the presence of chief minister N Biren Singh and works minister Govindas Konthoujam on August 27 .
In a release, MAC president Dr Prithiviraj Kangjam alias Yaiphaba conveyed that MAC, since its inception, has been dedicated to assisting 'Kangleichas' in pursuing higher education/study, immigration, etc., in Canada and providing a helping hand in times of need for the community and people of Manipur.
During the programme, the CM and the works minister motivated and encouraged the Association and appealed to the Manipuri diaspora to do what they could for a better Manipur, it added.
MAC also mentioned that during the biennial convention, a cultural programme was conducted with renowned artistes from Manipur, including Pusparani, Chitra, Pinky, Arbin, and Kennedy along with the Nokphade team (Rohini Kumar & team) captivating the online viewers across the world with their performances.
In addition, Manipuri kids across Canada displayed a talent show.
As a part of the event, new organisational leadership team members were elected for the term 2022-2024 comprising Dr Prithiviraj Kangjam as president (Vancouver) , Russiachand Heikham as vice president (Montreal), Tolen Moirangthem as secretary (Saskatoon), Dayananda Paonam as assistant secretary cum treasurer (Toronto), with executive members Milanda Roy (Manitoba), and Daisy (Toronto), it informed.
MAC further conveyed that an advisory committee comprising Dr Joy Laishram, Joy Chabungbam, Sujata Chabungbam, Promud Hamom, Ananta Singha, Sarda Heigrujam, Ranibala Kshetrimayum, and Shanta Konthoujam was formed to look after and offer suggestions to the executive team.
