Army flags off skill development prog trainees

In all, 44 youths of the state were flagged off by Red Shield Division GOC major general Navin Sachdeva on Tuesday from Leimakhong Military Station for joining a three-month long skill development programme to be organised by Red Shield Division and Pragati Edutech at Guwahati.
The participants of the training programme in Hospitality and Tourism Management Course include 20 females who were selected out of a total of 134 applicants from various parts of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, major general Navin Sachdeva noted that the state has a huge scope in tourism and hospitality and observed that in coming few years this sector will provide ample employment opportunity for the youth.
He said the Indian Army has been organising various capacity programmes and as a part of it the latest skill development programme is being conducted for talented youth in collaboration with Pragati Edutech.
