'People for Change', a youth's organisation will be campaigning to ensure that the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election is conducted in a free and fair manner.
Philem Rohan, convenor of People for Change made the above declaration while speaking to media persons during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today.

For the first phase, around 30 to 40 youths will carry out a cycle campaign in 39 Assembly segments in the valley region and will distribute flyers to the public and install hoardings at public places to spread messages against social gatherings, taking money etc in connection with the election, he added.
He further stated that they are also planning to conduct similar campaign in the Assembly Constituencies in the hill districts of the State.
Also, a petition campaign will also be carried out, he stated.
He expressed belief that some ill practices related with the election in the State will be reformed to some extent with the conduct of such a campaign.
Rohan Philem also said that the advice he received from the elders during his initiative under the theme, 'Cycling for Humanity, Feeding the Hungry', formed the base of the campaign and has been inspired by the successful campaign by Young Mizo Association of Mizoram for a free and fair election.
He maintained that though the campaign is going to be risky, many have given positive response towards the same.
The campaign is set to begin by 20th of this month, he added.
