Certification prog for AROs underway DIPR

Imphal, September 14 2021:
A four-day Certification Programme for Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) of Chandel, Ukhrul, Senapati, Churachandpur, Tamenglong and Kangpokpi districts commenced from Tuesday with joint chief electoral officer, Manipur Ramananda Nongmeikapam presiding over the event at the Conference Hall of Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, Lamphelpat.
The training programme consisting of four sessions each will be conducted by different resource persons.
According to Joint CEO Ramananda, the certification programme is the first batch being conducted by CEO, Manipur.
The second batch of training for the AROs of the remaining districts will be held from November 9 to 12 whereas training for Returning Officers (ROs) is scheduled for conduct from October 26 to 29, he added.
On the first day of the training, sessions on nomination, scrutiny of nomination, withdrawal of candidature and allotment of symbol and postal ballot were conducted by resource persons from National Level Master Trainers (NLMT) namely Ashwani Malik, SK Setia and Munir Vohra.
The same resource persons will conduct the training sessions on the second day on the topics of district election management plan, vulnerability mapping, qualification and disqualification.
On the third and fourth day, sessions will be conducted by NLMT's Yogesh Kumar and NLMT V Raghavendra on expenditure monitoring, polling party and poll day arrangement, EVM-VVPAT Hands On, and EVM-VVPAT Administrative.
The fourth day session will feature deliberations on Model Code of Conduct, paid news and MCMC, ETBPS and counting, he added.
The inaugural day of the training was attended by assistant returning officers and staff members of the CEO Manipur office and NLMT.
