Shri Shri Bal Mukunda Dev Music College, one of the Government music institutes in the State is filled with irregularities and is in a deplorable state.
The above statement was made by All Kangleipak Students Union (AKSU) in a press release issued today.
Stating that the Government and authorities concerned have turned a blind eye on the various irregularities which have engulfed the said college, AKSU urged the Chief Minister who also handles the Arts & Culture Department, Director and Commissioner of the department to look into the matter and streamline the process at the earliest to save the college from further degradation.
Talking about the anomalies prevalent in the college, the student body said that the recruitment of the vacant posts of teachers is done without proper notification defying the usual norms.
Some of the teachers of the college are also employed in other Government institutes and the authorities concerned have ignored such violations silently which is a matter of great concern, added the statement.
The student body also pointed out that few teachers have been appointed when there is no departments/ posts assigned for them.
AKSU also alleged that the recruitment of 8 teachers of the college on contractual basis in 2019 was done in an improper manner without proper public notification.
Citing many loopholes in the recruitment of these teachers, the student body appealed to nullify the appointment orders of the teachers concerned and to issue a new notification and appoint eligible teachers for the well being of the college.
